Children

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.

  • drama2_croppedIs your child anxious?
  • Being bullied?
  • Has little social skills?
  • Sad?
  • Finds it hard to separate from you?
  • Dealing with divorce?
  • Has nightmares?
  • Angry?
  • Has ADD/ADHA or Aspergers?
  • Shared parenting issues?
  • Has new step parents/siblings?

Let me spend some time with them. I have worked with children for over 17 years, and have been a parent for over 24 years, I am God parent to 10 children ranging from 2-29 years. I ran a childcare service for most of this time.

ChildArtistI know the way children think, when they lie, why they are frightened and what they want.

Amongst my colleagues I am known as the “child whisperer”; said simply I “get” them.

Children are precious, beautiful, wonderful creatures. They give us a purpose, a reason and fill our hearts with joy. They can also cause heart ache, angst, anger, frustration, humiliation and grey hairs!!

As parents, we always want the very best for them, which is not always the same thing as they want – hence the conflict. More conflict is between parents and children than any other relationship you will ever have in your life. And the bad news is You Can’t Divorce Them!

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth. You may give them your love but not your thoughts: for they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies buy not their souls: for their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them: but seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backwards nor tarries with yesterday.”
